Solar-Powered Data Centers

Soluna Holdings is Opening the First Fully Solar Data Center

Project Annie is an initiative by Soluna Holdings that marks the company’s first foray into solar-powered data center development. The project involves the establishment of a 75 MW data center co-located with a 114 MW solar farm in northeast Texas. Designed to harness underutilized solar energy, Project Annie aims to convert renewable power into scalable digital infrastructure capable of supporting intensive computing applications, including artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency mining. The project was advanced through the signing of a power term sheet and is being developed in partnership with a leading U.S. renewable energy operator.

As part of a broader strategic expansion, Project Annie contributes to Soluna Holdings’ growing development pipeline, which now exceeds 773 MW across wind, grid, and solar-powered computing projects. In addition to its technical objectives, the project follows the company’s tradition of recognizing pioneers in science and technology by being named in honor of Annie Easley, one of the early African American computer scientists at NASA. The next steps involve finalizing power purchase agreements, land agreements, and regulatory planning with ERCOT to ensure the project’s integration within the Texas energy market.
