Lir Chocolates Announced Full Recyclable Paper Packaging
Michael Hemsworth — September 16, 2025Lir Chocolates has announced the launch of recyclable paper packaging for its Baileys Chocolate and Guinness Chocolate Truffle ranges to help give them treats an eco-friendly edge.
The packaging update will see the chocolate truffles covered in paper twist wraps instead of plastic, which will reportedly result in a savings of 66-million plastic wrappers on a yearly basis. The wrappers are 100% recyclable and come as part of the brand's commitment to shifting its packaging towards more sustainable alternatives.
Brand Manager at Lir Chocolates Ethan Duffey spoke on the recyclable paper packaging update saying, "We’re proud of our long-standing relationship with Baileys and Guinness, delivering indulgent treats across a range of delicious flavours. As part of our commitment to delivering premium treats while reducing our environmental impact, we are delighted to introduce the fully recyclable paper twist wraps for the Baileys and Guinness Truffles.
