Selfridges' Reselfridges Recycle Tackles "Typically Binned" Items

Cosmetics and fragrances are notoriously difficult to recycle properly due to their mixed materials, small components, residual product contamination and specialty packaging that most curbside programs can't process, but Selfridges is aiming to redirect "typically binned" beauty products with its new Reselfridges Recycle program.

Following a successful trial period in 2025, the UK retailer is rolling out this scheme nationwide in 2026 with the support of recycling partner MyGroup, which accepts used cosmetics, aftershave and fragrance bottles, including those still containing liquid.

Reselfridges Recycle collection boxes are now available in all four Selfridges’ UK Beauty Halls, and when customers bring five empties (from any brand) to the recycling point, they'll get a Selfridges Unlocked key from the Beauty Concierge team. The more keys they get, the more perks customers gain access to as part of the Selfridges membership program.
