Recycled Food Storage Containers
Rubbermaid is expanding recycled food storage containers by incorporating Eastman’s Tritan Renew copolyester into select Brilliance products. The material uses certified recycled content allocated through a mass balance approach while maintaining the clarity, durability and food-contact performance associated with the existing collection. The updated containers retain features including stain, odor and shatter resistance alongside leakproof, microwave-safe lids. Tritan Renew has also been integrated into existing product designs, reducing the need for extensive redesigns.
For Rubbermaid, the material provides a way to introduce recycled inputs across an established consumer product portfolio while preserving familiar performance characteristics. The collaboration also demonstrates how materials suppliers such as Eastman can help major brands incorporate recycled feedstocks into existing manufacturing systems. Commercial availability through major retailers could further expose mainstream consumers to food storage products incorporating circular material strategies.
