Recycled Food-Focused Trays

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited and AMB have launched a next-generation PET multilayer tray that is fully recyclable and meets strict food safety and performance standards. The innovation aligns with the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which is pushing companies to improve packaging circularity and reduce waste.

The tray incorporates recycled PET flakes in its core, surrounded by virgin, food-grade PET layers to ensure product safety, clarity, and sealing performance. Unlike many multilayer formats, it remains recyclable after use—enabling a true material-to-material loop that keeps PET in high-value applications.

“A scalable innovation like this enables the tray industry to maintain high performance while moving decisively toward Europe’s circular-economy ambitions,” said Andy Motta, Business Director for Europe and Türkiye, CPET, at Indorama Ventures. “It reflects our commitment to solutions that strengthen recycling systems.”
