Recyclable Snack Packaging

Dow, Macchi, and ITP are releasing a new mono-PE food pouch prototype that uses 50% chemically recycled content. Designed for snacks and other regulated products, the new pouches align with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation’s recycled content quotas, allowing companies to reduce their reliance on virgin resources for the betterment of the planet. ITP managed the film selection, digital printing, lamination, and pouch assembly, while Macchi supplied advanced multilayer extrusion technology to enhance film flexibility and reduce overall thickness.

“Through this collaboration, ITP highlights its expertise in PE extrusion to provide high-performance films with advanced recycled content, fully compliant with upcoming PPWR requirements and ready to meet future market challenges,” said Carlo Poggi, managing director at ITP.
