British distillery Sapling Spirits is expanding the distribution of its sustainable vodka product in the UK through a retail rollout across 171 Sainsbury’s stores.
The product is made from organic winter wheat and undergoes a four-stage distillation process, then is blended with filtered water to achieve a consistent flavor profile. The production method emphasizes controlled inputs and standardized procedures to ensure consistent brand quality. The brand employs a production model that links tree-planting commitments to the spirit's sales volume. Sapling Spirits also provides alternative packaging formats and refill systems aimed at reducing material use.
As distribution channels expand, products with established sourcing and manufacturing methods are being placed in mainstream retail settings, including spirits products that incorporate environmental considerations.
