Circular Handmade Tables

Gustaf Westman and Swedish Stockings Debut Upcycled Tables Using Tights

Gustaf Westman and Swedish Stockings are partnering to introduce a line of handcrafted tables made from recycled tights. The initiative comes as a result of the Swedish Stockings' Recycling Club, which originated in 2019 and invites consumers to send back old tights instead of throwing them in the trash. The collected tights are then used to fuel new creations and contribute to the larger circular economy.

Depending on size, each table features a unique number of used tights, ranging from 300 to 800 pairs. The tables come in indoor and outdoor iterations, and will be auctioned through Bukowskis.

“This project shows what happens when fashion and design come together with a shared purpose – to create something beautiful, sustainable and meaningful from what is otherwise considered waste,” Frisinger continues. “That a renowned auction house like Bukowskis chooses to highlight and sell our collection sends a strong signal about the value of circular solutions.”
