Syre and Selenis have formed a strategic partnership to open a textile-to-textile recycling plant in Cedar Creek, North Carolina, marking a significant step toward circularity in the textile industry. Both companies specialize in advanced recycling technologies and share a mission to reduce waste and carbon emissions in textile production.

The facility will combine "depolymerization and polymerization technologies at one integrated site, creating an efficient system capable of producing up to 10,000 metric tons of circular polyester annually." Operations are expected to begin by mid-2025, with commercial sales projected for later that year.

Syre, launched in March 2025, is "building gigascale plants worldwide to replace oil-based polyester with recycled alternatives, aiming to reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 85%." Located alongside Selenis’s existing production plant, the facility enables continuous processing—from pre-treatment to PET chip production—establishing North Carolina as a leader in sustainable textile innovation.
