Warrnambool Unveils New Eco-Friendly Retreats at YumaKiah Coastal
Kanesa D — December 4, 2025Construction has begun on YumaKiah Coastal Retreat, an eco-conscious luxury accommodation project set to elevate sustainable travel in Warrnambool and attract more visitors to Victoria’s southwest. Supported by the Regional Tourism Investment Fund, the development will feature three high-end retreats just a 10-minute drive from central Warrnambool along the scenic Great Ocean Road.
Designed to harmonize with the natural landscape, each retreat will offer breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Southern Ocean and surrounding farmland. Catering to up to four guests, the accommodations prioritize sustainability by operating off-grid, using renewable energy, and employing construction practices that protect the local environment.
YumaKiah Coastal Retreat is expected to host approximately 864 guests annually, with an average stay of 2 nights. The project is projected to contribute nearly $700,000 in additional local spending per year, supporting regional events, attractions, and the broader tourism economy while offering a premium, environmentally conscious getaway.
