Australia’s Gold Coast will host the Global Sustainable Tourism Summit in 2026, emphasizing the region’s commitment to environmentally responsible tourism. Held from June 2 to June 5, the summit will convene international sustainability experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to advance eco-positive practices across the tourism sector.

Organized by Ecotourism Australia in partnership with Tourism Australia and the City of Gold Coast, the event aligns with ongoing regional initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting nature-positive tourism development. More than one thousand delegates are expected to participate in discussions centered on environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, climate-responsive tourism strategies, and the preservation of cultural and natural assets.

The four-day program will include a "1.5-day conference, networking forums, and immersive field experiences designed to demonstrate practical applications of sustainable tourism principles." By showcasing innovative approaches and encouraging global collaboration, the summit aims to strengthen industry-wide adoption of greener practices while highlighting the Gold Coast as a leading destination committed to ecological stewardship.
