Strategic Agrifoodtech Investments

Waterpoint Lane, a venture capital and growth equity firm specializing in food and agriculture innovation, has led a strategic investment in Heritable Agriculture Inc. Heritable develops proprietary genetic and computational platforms designed to accelerate crop improvement by lowering development timelines and costs while enhancing resilience and yield efficiency. The company is headed by CEO Brad Zamft, previously a project lead at X, the Moonshot Factory, whose experience in scaling audacious technologies underpins Heritable’s mission to transform global agriculture supply chains.

The investment comes from Waterpoint Lane Fund I, which closed at the end of 2024 and has since backed several high-potential agrifoodtech ventures. Meifan Shi, Co-Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer, noted that the firm targets visionary founders with differentiated technologies and the capacity to drive systemic change in food systems. Ben Gibbons, Co-Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer, emphasized rigorous due diligence, capital efficiency, and scalable business models as core to their investment philosophy. This partnership underscores Waterpoint Lane’s commitment to sustainable innovation and its role as a leading investor in the agrifoodtech ecosystem.
