Woolworth's Unveils the New Branded Sliced Bread Bags

Woolworths is taking a significant step toward reducing plastic waste by switching its Own Brand sliced bread bags to include 30% recycled plastic, which will cut approximately 50,000 kilograms of virgin plastic from its supply chain each year. The change applies to six popular bread products and is part of Woolworths’ ongoing efforts to eliminate tens of thousands of tonnes of new plastic from its operations.
The low-density polyethylene (LDPE) food-grade bags, produced by global packaging leader Amcor, combine sustainability with quality to ensure the bread stays fresh. The new packaging is now used across Woolworths’ Soft White Sandwich, Soft Wholemeal Sandwich, Soft White Toast, High Fibre White Sandwich, Soft Multigrain Sandwich, and High Fibre Multigrain Sandwich lines.
