Upcycled Culturally Significant Sculptures
Zinnov Foundation Highlights Bengaluru Cultural Legacy
Kalin Ned — September 22, 2025The Zinnov Foundation has acquired a significant sculpture for the Science Gallery in Bengaluru. This move serves the Foundation's broader objective of incorporating artistic works into community areas, driven by a structured methodology involving awareness campaigns, advisory services, and direct implementation.
The work is titled 'In the Making of the Self.' It was created from repurposed industrial materials, specifically steel and reclaimed industrial scrap wood. The piece also presents a thematic engagement with environmental concerns such as sustainability and consumption.
Heena Pari, Visual Artist and Chair of the Foundation, commented about the acquisition: "At Zinnov Foundation, we believe art can reshape public discourse and spark meaningful action — especially in a world where technology often overshadows our shared humanity. Our Art in Public Spaces initiative bridges artistic expression and scientific inquiry, creating inclusive platforms for complex conversations. Arunkumar's In the Making of the Self powerfully captures this vision — provoking reflection on our environmental footprint while inviting collective dialogue."
