Transition Industries has formalized agreements with a consortium of international engineering firms for the construction of a major ultra-low carbon chemical production facility in Mexico.
Termed the Pacifico Mexinol project, the innovative initiative is planned to produce substantial quantities of methanol — a fundamental industrial chemical and feedstock for countless products, including plastics, paints, adhesives, and solvents — through a process that integrates carbon capture with natural gas and the production of green hydrogen.
The Pacifico Mexinol project has an estimated value of over three billion dollars and is supported by the International Finance Corporation. The plant is scheduled to commence operations before the end of the decade, with the stated goal of becoming the world's largest facility of its kind dedicated to low-carbon chemical production.
