Smart Urban E-Bikes

Specialized launched the 'Vado 3 EVO,' an e-bike designed for daily commuters and recreational riders seeking a smoother, more connected electric bike commuting experience. The bike accelerates from zero to 25 kph in three seconds and can pair with Apple Watches for ride tracking and heart rate monitoring, while Apple Find My lets users locate the bike directly from an iPhone.

A keyless digital wheel lock was developed with Abus. It automatically secures the bike when powered off, and a PIN-protected touchscreen is required to unlock it. The suspension on the bike was designed the same way as Specialized's bikes for professional racing athletes.

As more consumers turn to e-bikes for daily transportation, Specialized shows how purpose-built commuter models can deliver serious performance engineering and smart-device integration to everyday riders.
