Eco-Friendly Seasoning Packets

American Packaging Corporation (APC) has introduced its 'RE™ Design for Recycle High Barrier Paper' pouch, a packaging solution developed to support sustainability objectives while maintaining product performance and visual appeal. The pouch is designed for use across a range of dry food applications, including single-serve seasoning packets and larger-format dry-mix products.

The packaging structure incorporates a paper-based, PVDC-free construction that is intended to improve recyclability and reduce environmental impact compared to conventional high-barrier packaging. It provides functional protection against grease and aroma transfer, helping to preserve product flavor and quality. In addition, the pouch offers moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) and oxygen transmission rate (OTR) barrier properties that support freshness and extend shelf life.

The RE™ pouch also supports high-definition printing, enabling clear, vibrant graphics that enhance shelf visibility for brands. By combining barrier performance, recyclability considerations, and design flexibility, the solution reflects APC’s approach to developing packaging formats that align environmental considerations with commercial and functional requirements.
