Bcomp and Ather Energy collaborated to produce Redux, a concept electric two wheeler that integrates Bcomp’s ampliTex natural flax fibre composite into exterior body panels and structural elements. The project demonstrates application of natural fibre reinforced composites in a mobility context, combining Ather’s vehicle design and engineering with Bcomp’s material technology to explore weight reduction, tactile finishes, and visual expression using exposed composite surfaces.

The partners present Redux as an experimental platform to assess how flax based composites perform in terms of stiffness, impact behaviour, and manufacturability relative to conventional materials, while also addressing sustainability metrics such as renewable content and end of life considerations. Public reporting highlights the concept’s aim to reconcile motorcycle like dynamics with scooter ease of use and to illustrate pathways for scaling natural fibre components in production two wheelers.
