The Collaboration Between China Mobile and ZTE is Award-Winning

A collaborative project between the telecommunications operator China Mobile and the equipment provider ZTE has received an industry accolade — the Asia Mobile Award 2025 — in the category recognizing environmental initiatives.
The honored development is a 5G core network system that incorporates artificial intelligence and cloud-based architecture with a primary focus on improving energy efficiency. The central objective of this technological approach is to lower the power usage of the network's fundamental control systems and to simultaneously maintain or enhance operational capabilities and service quality. By utilizing AI to manage resources dynamically and a cloud-native design that allows for more flexible scaling, the solution proposed by China Mobile and ZTE delivers a reduction in both capital and operational expenditures for network providers while also decreasing their carbon footprint.
The project is reported to have already been implemented in several regions within China.
