Waste Management-Focused Initiatives

Dubai Municipality has introduced a new environmental initiative named Circle Dubai, which was announced during the Asia-Pacific Cities Summit. This program is designed as a comprehensive effort to address waste management through principles of a circular economy. It focuses on minimizing garbage creation, enhancing recycling rates, and reducing landfill use.

The Circle Dubai initiative forms a key component of the broader Dubai Integrated Waste Management Strategy 2041. Its operational framework involves engaging nine distinct urban sectors, ranging from residential and commercial areas to industrial and tourism-related activities. Dubai Municipality also emphasizes public engagement and education through this project. This component will be facilitated through a digitally-based learning platform with customized information for different groups, alongside an ambassador program where community representatives will promote awareness through direct outreach and local activities.
