Digital Traceability Food Initiatives

Identiv, Inc., a technology company specializing in wireless identification solutions, and IFCO, a provider of reusable packaging systems, have partnered to enhance digital traceability in the grocery sector.

The two entities are focusing on developing and integrating a new Bluetooth Low Energy tracking label into the existing global network of reusable produce containers. This technological enhancement is designed to provide continuous, real-time data on both the geographical location and temperature conditions of these containers as they move through the supply chain.

By enhancing digital traceability, Identiv, Inc. and IFCO strive to increase operational visibility, improve logistical efficiency, and reduce spoilage of perishable goods by monitoring environmental conditions. The initiative is structured to begin with a pilot program in the near future, followed by a broader implementation across the packaging pool.
