PureCycle and Emerald Carpets Launch a Closed-Loop Recycling Model
Kanesa D — July 3, 2025PureCycle Technologies, Inc., an advanced recycling company based in Orlando, Florida, has entered into a strategic partnership with Emerald Carpets, a leading trade show carpet manufacturer headquartered in Dalton, Georgia. This collaboration marks a significant step toward circularity in the flooring industry, aiming to close the loop on polypropylene (PP) carpet waste.
As part of the agreement, Emerald Carpets has signed a commercial supply deal to source approximately 5 million pounds annually of PureCycle’s PureFive™ Choice resin—an ultra-pure, recycled PP material. The resin will be seamlessly integrated into Emerald’s current fiber production processes, enabling the company to immediately surpass California’s upcoming recycled content requirements for carpet products, which will be enforced beginning in 2028.
Beyond resin supply, the partnership also establishes a recycling pathway for used trade show carpets. PureCycle will recover and process post-use carpets from Emerald, converting them into high-quality, fiber-grade recycled PP pellets. These pellets will then be used to manufacture new carpets—creating a true carpet-to-carpet solution that supports both environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance.
