Sustainable Governance Initiatives

Assan Alüminyum recently outlined its strategic focus on environmental and social governance, while positioning sustainability as a central tenet of its operational philosophy. The company, a significant participant in the flat-rolled aluminum sector, has implemented a multi-faceted approach that includes enhancing energy efficiency and employing sophisticated recycling methods to mitigate its ecological footprint and address its Scope 2 emissions.

Assan Alüminyum's commitment to an environmental and social governance model has been formally acknowledged through the attainment of the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Standard Certificate. The Biodiversity Preservation Project is another notable component of Assan Alüminyum's strategy. Conducted in collaboration with Kocaeli University, this initiative has successfully cultivated and reintroduced several endangered native plant species, including the Centaurea kilaea, back into their natural habitats.

The company's long-term vision is formalized in a Decarbonization Roadmap targeting the year 2050, with an ultimate objective of achieving carbon neutrality.
