Every Can Counts Introduces a New Recycling Pilot Program
Kanesa D — October 30, 2025Every Can Counts U.S., a Washington-based aluminum recycling program, has launched its first golf course recycling initiative at East Potomac Golf Links, in partnership with National Links Trust. The program aims to make recycling simple for golfers and visitors by placing aluminum can recycling bins near the clubhouse, driving range, mini-golf course, and throughout the course.
The pilot kicked off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 15 and is designed to keep aluminum cans in circulation rather than in landfills. Every Can Counts plans to expand the program to more public golf courses next year, inviting interested courses to join.
“Through this new pilot program with National Links Trust, we are showing that small actions—like recycling your used aluminum beverage can—make an enormous difference. Aluminum beverage cans are the most sustainable beverage package on virtually every measure, and the revenue generation of this program is unique to beverage cans given their relatively high scrap value," said Tim Ebner, vice president of marketing and communications at Can Manufacturers Institute and a lead organizer of the Every Can Counts U.S. chapter.
