GITEX Africa 2026 is scheduled to take place in Marrakech from April 7 to 9 and will focus on the role of data systems, energy infrastructure, and sustainable innovation in shaping mobility across the continent. The event highlights how Africa’s mobility sector is evolving through integrated digital platforms, expanding electric vehicle adoption, and the rapid growth of mobile technologies. Mobile services contributed an estimated 220 billion dollars to Africa’s economy in 2024 and are projected to reach 270 billion dollars by 2030, supporting new models of transport and logistics. The mobility market itself is expected to grow from 17.4 billion dollars in 2025 to 28 billion dollars by 2030, reflecting rising investment in electric motorcycles, buses, and commercial fleets.

The exhibition will also address the broader energy and infrastructure requirements needed to support this transition, including battery production, mineral processing, and grid‑ready charging systems. Countries such as Kenya, Nigeria, and Morocco are advancing different strategies to scale electric mobility, from battery swapping networks to local assembly and policy‑driven adoption. By May 2025, more than 30,000 electric vehicles were already in use across Africa, with the strongest growth in two and three wheelers and electric buses. GITEX Africa 2026 positions these developments within a wider discussion on sustainable digital transformation, emphasizing how technology, data, and energy systems are converging to reshape mobility in ways specific to African urban and economic conditions.
