Upcycled Book Picnic Blankets

Late March marks the start of cherry blossom season in Japan, and with people needing a place to sit as they take in the sights of nature, Value Books took it upon itself to recycle unwanted used books into the Hon Datta Picnic Blanket.

Used books can be a notoriously difficult sell, their value fading steadily after the initial publishing moment has passed, and for many titles, the chances of being picked up again depend almost entirely on someone walking in already knowing exactly what they are looking for. This 70% recycled book paper picnic blanket, a fresh addition to the Used to Be Books series, gives new life to books destined for paper recycling (and includes about 30% other recycled paper) and includes a laminated backing so that it can be comfortably used on damp grass.
