Low-Temperature Oxidizing Agents

LANXESS Releases a Powerful, Eco-Friendly Oxidizing Agent

German engineers have introduced a new detergent solution that aims to champion environmental sustainability and reduce energy use. Dubbed 'Oxone Monopersulfate Compound,' this new oxidizing agent removes stains at 20 °C without high temperatures, helping users reduce their CO₂ emissions.

Quick-dissolving and compatible with powders, pods, and tablets, Oxone is gentle on fabrics, preserves colors, and is chlorine-free and odorless for safer, more pleasant use. With a lower handling risk and broad applicability beyond laundry, it can enhance dishwashing, appliance cleaners, and household cleaning products.

"Oxone shows how innovative chemistry can drive sustainability in cleaning,” says Dr. Kelly Board, Technical Application Manager for Oxidation at LANXESS. "Washing at low temperatures can save up to 27 kilograms of CO₂ per household annually, while also reducing microfiber release.”
