CO2-Made Carbonate Ethoxylates

Econic Technologies has commercialized a new line of surfactant chemicals. Branded as Recreaire, this innovation is synthesized using carbon dioxide as a foundational raw material.

Econic Technologies' manufacturing process allows for a significant portion of the traditional petrochemical or oleochemical feedstocks to be displaced, with CO₂ constituting up to 45 percent of the final product's mass. The resulting compounds are designed to be direct functional replacements for existing surfactant chemicals. Recreaire reportedly maintains performance while offering enhanced sustainability profiles — from full biodegradability to a substantial reduction in global warming potential as confirmed by an independent lifecycle assessment.

The technology is positioned as a flexible platform capable of creating various surfactant analogues for diverse markets such as cleaning products, personal care, and industrial applications.
