LILYSILK x TerraCycle® Mark the Recycling Program's Fourth Year

LILYSILK x TerraCycle® are marking the fourth year of their textile recycling collaboration, an initiative designed to reduce waste and advance circular fashion practices. Launched in January 2022, the program enables U.S. customers to recycle non-donatable silk and cashmere items that would otherwise enter landfills. To date, "2,849 garments, totaling nearly 1,680 pounds of material, have been diverted and processed into secondary raw materials used for insulation, cushion filling, and related applications."
The program supports environmental stewardship by offering a prepaid shipping system that simplifies participation and encourages responsible disposal. Once collected, textiles are recycled into reusable formats, extending material life cycles and reducing demand for virgin resources. Participants receive LILYSILK points and TerraCycle® Recycling Rewards, which can be directed toward charitable donations, further reinforcing social impact.
As of November 2025, "425 items were recycled during the current year." Collectively, the initiative promotes waste reduction, resource efficiency, and sustainable consumption.
