Upcycled Furniture Projects

Lincolnshire County Has Launched the ‘Made with Love' Initiative

Lincolnshire County Council’s Community Intervention Team has launched a new reuse initiative, ‘Made With Love,’ to turn donated furniture into high-quality, refurbished pieces for residents experiencing hardship.

The program collects unwanted furniture from the public and items diverted from disposal by the waste team at Tattershall Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Instead of sending these items to the landfill, the team upcycles them by repairing, repainting, and refinishing pieces so they can be redistributed to local families and individuals in need.

The initiative forms part of the council’s wider reparation and community support efforts, which combine social impact with environmental responsibility. It aims to reduce reliance on landfills, promote sustainable consumption, and strengthen community resilience.

The council now plans to scale the program through scheduled donation and collection days, increasing the volume of items recovered and broadening its reach across the county.
