La Crosse North Community Library Hosts Weekly Eco-Friendly Craft Events
Kanesa D — July 15, 2025The La Crosse North Community Library is inspiring social change through its weekly Eco-Friendly Craft Events, held every Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. These sessions offer residents a hands-on opportunity to transform recycled and upcycled materials into original works of art, blending creativity with sustainability.
Participants are encouraged to explore a wide variety of reusable materials that might otherwise end up as waste. By repurposing these items into imaginative crafts, attendees can help reduce environmental impact and also develop a deeper appreciation for resourcefulness and creative expression.
"We provide a variety of up-cycled materials, and we ask them to unleash their imagination, and it's just wonderful to see each week what folks come up with," said Heather Miller, Public Experience Supervisor at the library.
The Eco-Friendly Craft Event has quickly become a staple of the library’s programming, welcoming individuals of all ages and skill levels to participate in a relaxed, educational setting rooted in environmental conservation.
