CnerG Has Acquired Monsoon Carbon to Scale REC & Carbon Credit Sourcing

CnerG has acquired Monsoon Carbon, a Singapore-based environmental commodities trading and consulting firm, to strengthen its carbon credit procurement capabilities across Southeast Asia and other emerging markets. The deal combines CnerG's digital procurement platform, active in more than 100 countries, with Monsoon Carbon's network of over 150 exclusively managed renewable energy and carbon credit projects.
The acquisition addresses a growing challenge for corporate buyers navigating Asia's fragmented renewable energy certificate systems, where supply conditions, policy requirements and verification standards vary significantly across markets. Monsoon Carbon's regional teams in Singapore and Vietnam will continue supporting existing project developers and corporate partners under CnerG's ownership.
The deal shows how digital procurement platforms are combining technology with regional expertise to provide buyers with a more transparent path to verified environmental commodities.
