Microsoft Partnered with Novata to Benefit SMEs Globally
Colin Smith — July 18, 2025Novata and Microsoft announced a strategic collaboration in July 2025 to extend AI-powered sustainability solutions to small and mid-sized enterprises globally. Under the agreement, Microsoft will become a key sales partner for Novata, making its Carbon Navigator platform available through Microsoft’s SME channels and the Azure Marketplace. The partnership also encompasses co-development of new AI tools—leveraging Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search and Microsoft Fabric—to streamline emissions data collection, carbon accounting and regulatory reporting for businesses and supply-chain partners worldwide.
As part of the collaboration, Novata will support Microsoft suppliers in meeting climate reporting requirements by offering scalable, auditable tools for tracking and managing Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Since its commercial launch in April 2022, Novata’s platform has been adopted by over 10,000 companies and underpins the sustainability data management of more than $12 trillion in assets. The joint effort builds on Microsoft’s 2023 investment in Novata through its Climate Innovation Fund, reinforcing both organisations’ commitment to integrating sustainability into global value chains.
