Meghalaya is advancing its sustainable tourism and community development strategy through the launch of the 'Pine Home Project,' a new habitat-focused initiative centered on environmentally responsible infrastructure. The project includes the creation of a community hub designed to serve both residents and visitors, supporting a more sustainability-oriented travel experience across the region.

As sustainable building practices become more commonplace across the world, rural areas are also seeing an influx of developments that aim to reduce ecological impact.

Developed through a collaboration between the Picasso Pupils art society, Emage Architecture Studio, and the Saitsnad Multipurpose Co-operative Society, the initiative emphasizes low-impact construction methods and the integration of sustainable building materials. The approach is intended to minimize environmental disruption while promoting more resilient and community-conscious design practices.
