Organic Catering Operations

Power Knot has expanded its sustainable operations through the installation of a high-capacity 'Automated Feed System' at the Emirates Flight Catering facility at Dubai International Airport. As one of the world’s largest airline catering operations, Emirates Flight Catering generates significant volumes of organic food waste each day, making efficient and environmentally responsible waste management essential.

The integrated Power Knot system enables large-scale on-site treatment of food waste, reducing environmental impacts associated with transportation and landfill disposal. Organic waste is automatically collected, processed, and converted into grey water through an advanced bio-digestion process, supporting circular waste management practices.

At the core of the installation is "the LFC-2000 biodigester, supported by automated tipping, grinding, and conveying equipment that ensures continuous and efficient operation." The system can process several tons of food waste daily, helping lower greenhouse gas emissions, minimize landfill dependence, and support Emirates Flight Catering’s broader sustainability and resource efficiency goals.
