SodaStream Australia announced its partnership with the Herald Sun/Transurban Run for the Kids event on 6 April to advance large-scale event sustainability. As the first sustainability sponsor of the Melbourne-based charity run, the brand will distribute 7,000 reusable carbonating bottles and operate a DIY Hydration Station, enabling participants to prepare custom sparkling beverages using refillable bottles and a selection of SodaStream flavours. The initiative builds on SodaStream’s collaboration with Clean Up Australia, its long-term charity partner since 2017, and underscores the integration of eco-friendly practices into community gatherings.

The Run for the Kids event supports the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and has raised $22.9 million since its inception in 2006. Marketing manager Holly Walker emphasized that the sponsorship reflects SodaStream’s goal of making sustainable hydration accessible and reducing reliance on single-use plastics. Run for the Kids chair Genevieve Brammall noted that the partnership strengthens the event’s commitment to environmental responsibility and will offer participants the opportunity to engage in reusable bottle initiatives and the popular hydration station. Through reusable CO₂ cylinders, recycled rPET flavour bottles, and recyclable packaging, SodaStream Australia reinforces its broader strategy of promoting sustainable consumption.
