Canadian Solar's New TOPCon Modules Deliver Up to 670W of Power
Mursal Rahman — June 22, 2026Solar energy breakthroughs are continuing to reshape the economics of renewable power, as Canadian Solar introduces its new TOPCon 3.0 photovoltaic module for utility-scale and commercial installations. The module delivers up to 670 watts of power and achieves conversion efficiencies of up to 24.8%, while maintaining a standard panel size for easier transportation and integration into existing energy projects.
The system combines higher power density, enhanced bifacial energy capture, and improved performance in high-temperature environments. Canadian Solar also states that the modules are engineered for long-term durability, retaining more than 88% of their original output after 30 years of operation.
For energy developers and businesses, the release reflects an industry-wide push to generate more electricity from the same installation footprint. Higher energy yields and lower projected electricity costs could strengthen project economics, improve returns on renewable energy investments, and support broader solar deployment across diverse operating environments.
