Plastic-Reducing Packaging Updates
Squire Has Moved Away from Plastic-Heavy Packaging Formats
Kanesa D — March 6, 2026Squire has announced new measures to reduce plastic waste across its product portfolio, reinforcing the company’s broader sustainability strategy.
The company reported importing 857 kilograms of plastic packaging in 2025, a 75% decrease from 3,364 kilograms in 2024. The reduction indicates a shift in procurement practices as the business works to eliminate non-recyclable materials from its supply chain.
As a starting point, the company is experimenting with the transition away from plastic-intensive packaging formats. In many cases, traditional blister packs have been replaced with boxed or carded alternatives, a move the company says has already significantly lowered the amount of plastic used across its operations.
“By making considered changes to how our products are packaged and working closely with our supply partners, we’re taking meaningful steps to reduce our environmental impact while continuing to support our retail customers. The feedback we’ve received so far has been extremely encouraging,” said Terry White, National Field Sales Manager at Squire.
