Sundays Vintage Transforms Towels and Tablecloths into High-End Fashion
Kanesa D — February 24, 2026Sundays Vintage recently graced the PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival on Sunday, February 22, joining a slew of designers who primarily use reclaimed materials.
Founder Elisa Pigatto showcased a collection crafted from repurposed textiles, including a dress and matching bag made from vintage curtains, as well as pieces from her “Retowel” line created using discarded towels—such as patchwork bags and relaxed-fit shorts. The brand presented alongside other local sustainable labels, including Bowe Fashion, Kylah Owo!, and Theurge.
Described as nostalgic, romantic, and coastal with subtle 1970s influences, Sundays Vintage focuses on airy, wearable silhouettes suitable for everyday life.
“Independent runways like Stitch are so important for emerging designers because they create space for work that doesn’t necessarily fit within traditional fashion systems,” explains Elisa Pigatto. “For a lot of smaller or slow fashion brands, especially those working with reclaimed materials, the way we create doesn’t always align with expectations around large-scale production or seasonal collections.”
