Partly Recycled Aggregate Products
Travis Perkins Unveils a New Recycled Bagged Aggregate Trial
Kanesa D — February 4, 2026Travis Perkins has launched a regional pilot of an environmentally focused MOT Type 1 aggregate that incorporates up to 30% recycled construction and demolition waste.
The company will introduce an initial 25,000 bags of the new product, known as Ecoblend, across selected branches in the South East and South West. Ecoblend combines traditional quarried Type 1 material with carefully processed recycled asphalt and crushed concrete, all sourced locally and manufactured to meet established British and highway standards.
For builders and contractors, the trial offers a like-for-like alternative to conventional aggregate with a lower environmental impact. Using recycled content helps reduce landfill waste, limits the need for new quarrying, and supports more efficient use of natural resources.
"Aggregate reserves are dwindling and construction and new housing sectors are already using recycled aggregates to cope with that. Ultimately, a transition towards a recycled solution in the merchant sector has become not just desirable but inevitable," said John Duffy, Senior Category Manager - Aggregates at Travis Perkins.
