Sustainable Markets Initiative Launches an Urban Resilience Partnership
Georgia Wray Norsten — June 7, 2025The Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) and Resilient Cities Network have launched a new global partnership with 22 cities to address urban resilience and public health. Announced June 4, the initiative will support climate-adaptive planning and early prevention strategies tied to urban health outcomes. Founding business partners, including Reckitt and Bupa, will contribute funding and expertise to help cities build capacity for climate-related public health crises. The partnership will promote best practices and case studies that integrate sustainability with health policy. The first pilot projects are expected to launch by the end of 2025. This campaign underscores how public-private collaboration can address urgent environmental and social challenges through scalable urban interventions.
For corporate partners, this initiative offers visibility, impact, and future collaboration opportunities in emerging markets. It reinforces ESG leadership and provides a model for business engagement in climate adaptation and health equity.
