Capture6 Focuses on Carbon Removal and Water Recovery

Climate technology firm Capture6 has successfully secured $27.5 million in a combined Series A investment and project financing round. This capital infusion was led by Tetrad Corporation and supported by a consortium of investors including Hyundai Motor Group's ZER01NE Ventures, Energy Capital Ventures, and Elemental Impact.
The investment is intended to expand the deployment of Capture6's hybrid proprietary system. The technology is engineered to address two interconnected challenges — it processes waste brine, a byproduct of desalination and wastewater treatment, to simultaneously produce fresh water and permanently remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Capture6's approach integrates with existing water infrastructure, which may carry implications for loweing operational costs by transforming a costly waste disposal problem into a resource. A cited partnership with the Palmdale Water District in California exemplifies this value proposition, claiming the potential to reduce land use for brine ponds by up to 100 acres and lower lifetime operational expenses by approximately 40% for a new facility.
