CO280 Solutions is Proposing an Important Facility
Kalin Ned — October 5, 2025References: newswire
CO280 Solutions is embarking on an important carbon removal project by initiating a preliminary engineering phase for a proposed facility. The site is intended to capture carbon dioxide emissions from an existing pulp and paper mill in Canada.
CO280 Solutions' carbon removal project is planned to have an annual capacity of 800,000 tonnes and is scheduled to commence operations in 2029. The technical approach involves integrating established carbon capture technology into the mill's current infrastructure to isolate biogenic emissions, with the resulting carbon removal credits being marketed to commercial buyers. This initiative is presented as a model that provides the host industrial facility with a new source of revenue while contributing to carbon reduction objectives. The company is concurrently advancing similar projects in other North American locations.
