Clean Energy Systems Inc., PETRONAS, MISC Berhad, and Aker Solutions AS have officially signed the ZEUS agreement for the ZEUS Demo Front-End Engineering and Design. This is considered " a pivotal step in the development of the Zero Emission Power Station (ZEUS) project."
This initiative aims to develop a station capable of producing electricity without operational emissions. The plan is to do so by utilizing a specialized combustion process that employs pure oxygen instead of air, coupled with the complete capture of resulting carbon dioxide. The technology is specifically engineered to process natural gas with a high carbon dioxide content, which may potentially enable the use of previously uneconomical or stranded gas reserves.
The current engineering phase is intended to validate the system's technical and economic feasibility for both land-based and potential offshore applications.
