Alila Mayakoba has opened as the brand’s first property in Latin America, expanding its footprint into Mexico’s high-growth luxury tourism market.

Situated within the exclusive Mayakoba enclave on the Riviera Maya, the 60-acre resort features 182 rooms, including a high proportion of suites and private villas, positioning it to capture premium demand for leisure and experiential travel. The resort incorporates locally sourced materials, including tzalam and parota woods, Mérida limestone, and reclaimed travertine, to reduce environmental impact and support regional suppliers.

The property also offers six dining venues focused on local cuisine and responsible sourcing. Chef’s Atelier El Huerto stands out for its head-to-tail, zero-waste approach, reinforcing the resort’s ESG credentials while enhancing its appeal to environmentally conscious travelers.
