Recycled Plastic Bottles

Asahi Beverages has converted every plastic soft drink bottle in its Australian range, including Schweppes, Solo and Pepsi, to 100% recycled plastic, with roughly 350 million bottles now produced annually from repurposed material rather than virgin plastic. The shift also extends to the company's Cool Ridge and Frantelle water bottles and Cottee's cordial packaging.

The transition was enabled by Asahi's investment in Australia's Container Deposit Schemes and two new PET recycling plants in Albury, New South Wales, and Altona, Victoria, built through the Circular Plastics Australia joint venture with Cleanaway, Pact Group and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

The deposit schemes supply used bottles as feedstock, letting Asahi source more recycled material domestically rather than relying on imported plastic.
