Lauf Cycles Launched Its First Carbon Electric Bike
Adam Harrie — April 10, 2026Icelandic brand Lauf Cycles introduced its first electric mountain bike, the eEjia, bringing its lightweight carbon frame and simplified suspension design to the e‑MTB market. At 36.6 lbs, the model ranks among the lighter options in its class and is powered by a compact TQ HPR60 motor delivering 60 Nm of torque within a fully sealed, waterproof system.
Two configurations are available: the 'Weekend Warrior' priced at $6,990 and the 'Race' at $8,490, both equipped with wireless controls, RockShox suspension systems and SRAM Eagle drivetrain components. An optional range extender increases climbing capacity to over 6,600 feet per charge.
The release reflects continued development in lightweight e-MTB design, focusing on balancing motor support with ride dynamics and component integration.
