Large-Scale Tree Planting Initiatives
Climate Impact Partners Partners with Terra Natural Capital
Kalin Ned — September 23, 2025Climate Impact Partners has established a financing agreement with Terra Natural Capital to support a large-scale tree planting initiative in the Panna region of India, with Microsoft committing to purchase half of the carbon removal credits generated by the project over a thirty-year period.
Climate Impact Partners' project involves planting millions of native trees on community and farmlands, with the dual objectives of sequestering atmospheric carbon and generating socio-economic benefits for local populations. These community benefits include providing farmers with a share of the revenue from carbon credit sales and future non-timber forest products, alongside implementing water conservation infrastructure and training in sustainable agricultural methods. The project's carbon credits will be validated under a specific verification standard to ensure environmental integrity.
This large-scale tree planting initiative demonstrates a tangible application of corporate climate strategy.
