Costa Rica Unveils a New Fleet of Electric Air Taxis in Guanacaste

Costa Rica is launching electric air taxis, an initiative poised to redefine local and tourist mobility. This development stems from a partnership between Eve Air Mobility, Aerosolutions, and Bluenest by Globalvia.

The eVTOL aircraft are specifically designed for short-distance journeys, offering a cleaner, faster alternative to congested and often underdeveloped ground routes. Backed by Eve’s TechCare program, the air taxis will benefit from robust operational, maintenance, and customer support services. The initiative aims to build a full-fledged advanced air mobility (AAM) ecosystem in Costa Rica, with an initial focus on the Pacific coast and the province of Guanacaste.

Planned air routes will span 20 to 50 kilometers, connecting airports to remote natural destinations and high-traffic resort areas. With over three million international tourists visiting annually, the introduction of electric air taxis is expected to drastically improve travel times and promote the country as a sustainable tourist destination.
