Renewable Energy Accelerator Programs

Levi Strauss & Co. has initiated a collaborative Energy Accelerator Program with Schneider Electric. This venture is designed to facilitate the adoption of renewable power sources among the company's key suppliers, beginning with manufacturing partners in India.

The Energy Accelerator Program — which is termed LEAP — functions by aggregating the purchasing power of multiple suppliers to negotiate favorable terms for renewable electricity. At the same time, the initiative offers educational resources and advisory services to help these firms navigate the technical and financial complexities of transitioning away from fossil fuel-based power. The program structure allows participants to choose from various procurement methods, such as installing solar panels on their facilities or joining a collective agreement to buy power from a large-scale renewable energy project.

The collaborative Energy Accelerator Program is a strategic component of Levi Strauss & Co.'s broader environmental targets, which include a substantial reduction in supply chain emissions within the current decade.
